Dungeon Lords takes action RPG’s to a new level. There is no such thing as standing around doing nothing while letting your health slowly regenerate. Staying in one spot for any length of time will result in spawning of more enemies that will hunt you down. The game speeds up the action RPG genre over that seen in similar games.
The game places you in the role of a hero set out to save the world. After a powerful wizard is cast into oblivion, an evil wizard has started seeking out powerful artifacts that would give him power over everything. It is up to you to find these first.
Work your way through dungeons, cities, and wilderness as you fight a wide variety of creatures. Find new equipment, improve your stats and magical powers, and most of all… find those artifacts.
Choose from 7 races and 4 Tier One classes. As you advance, you can gain Tier Two and Tier Three classes to help develop your character even further. Each class can gain skill in all abilities, though some may be harder to obtain. For example, a fighter could train in a weapon skill for relatively few skill points, yet would need many more skill points to train a magic skill.
For magic, there are four kinds of magic: celestial, arcane, nether, and rune. Arcane magic is the standard scrolls and spellbooks form of magic. Celestial magic uses star crystals which each can perform a particular spell and need to recharge after the charges are used up. Nether magic require mixing various katals together to create the spell. These katals can be found throughout the game and include such things and bat wings and rat tails. Rune magic also requires mixing items together to create spells. However, rune magic uses runes rather than katals.
The collector’s edition of Dungeon Lords offers many extras including:

* New abilities: brand-new heralds and spells to unitize in your adventure
* Expansive areas: complete with new quests and powerful monstersIt also includes all updates and patches released for the regular version.
The Collector’s Edition has the stuff, which the standard edition should have at it’s release IMO – it’s like it’s more complete and updated to patch 1.5, unavailable for the standard edition. Since that a sequel and an expasion for Dungeon Lords have been announced, it would be good to play the prequel and know the story. If you’ll ignore a few bugs, you’ll surely enjoy this game. Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, has an exciting single player game. It contains 150 levels across Ten Underground Zones. Some of the levels rival Myst in their brain twisting and insanity. You play as either Jake Peril or Wes Reckless, adventurers intent on returning the treasures of their people to where they belong.
Lode Runner: The Legend Returns sports an excellent one player game. It also has a devious two player mode in which two players must work together to solve some of the puzzles. There are a few levels, however, where the players may just kill each other to see who can get more gold. In the long run though, the two players have to work together to win. The Level Editor can be used to create a two player dueling map. The Two Player Game spans the same Ten Zones
Lode Runner: The Legend Returns also has a level generator. It can make a level of any sort that you wish, in any of the 10 Worlds that are available to play in. But, sorry guys, it can’t edit the regular game levels.

Choose your path, choose your weapons, choose your skills and then immerse yourself in what is arguably one of the most frightening, eerie and simply amazing titles around. It’s a kind of action-intensive RPG that few can even come close to touching. System Shock 2 set a new approachable precedent for all first-person perspective games. It’s loaded with so many extras that exploration and interaction were necessities. Cybernetic monsters, rogue robots and a bunch of mutants called “The Many” dot an adventure that should not be missed by anyone with a backbone and a brain. Watch out for them psi- monkeys!

Each scenario has a three-tiered set of objectives,
